THIS IS THE REALITY ABOUT....

wants to change that and bring diversity to
the text messages of its iPhone users.
It's
nothing
new
that
people
are
pissed
about
the
lack of
diversity in Emojis. But finally that should
sometime soon change. After an MTV
blogger emailed Apple's Tim Cook asking
about the lack of diversity in the current
Emojis, a VP of worldwide corporate
communications responded with this:
“Tim forwarded your email to me. We
agree with you. Our emoji characters
are based on the Unicode standard,
which is necessary for them to be
displayed properly across many
platforms. There needs to be more
diversity in the emoji character set, and
we have been working closely with the
Unicode Consortium in an effort to
update the standard.”
It's pretty absurd how far off Emojis are in
terms of racial representation. And the
ones that did make the cut look like they
came from the mind of a backwoods
American who's never ventured away from
the armpit of the South. Take for instance
these fellows to the right. Whereas they
look like caricatures some people you might
run into in Asia, they at least get an
appearance amongst the several white
Emojis of different sexes, ages and even
hair colors. For people darker than this
turban-wearing guy, there is no love in the
Emoji world.
It'd be hilarious if it weren't so backwards,
the fact that Emoji creators had the space to
fit in a smiley face pile of poop, a bloody
needle and a monstrous eggplant. To sum it
all up, just take it from Vine using Destorm power

R.I.P MR. TUPPA

MARCH 25, 2014, will be remembered as a
sad day for residents of Mara Region and
the entire nation. This is the day when
death grabbed from the nation a hard
working leader who dedicated a larger part
of his life serving Tanzanians.
His wish was to see them prosper in
development. This is none other than Mara
Regional Commissioner Mr John Tuppa (64).
The RC died shortly after his arrival in
Tarime District for an official working tour
on Tuesday morning this week, at around
10: 45 am.
He felt unwell while at the Tarime District
Commissioner's office and was rushed to
the nearby Government Hospital where he
was declared dead after several minutes of
struggle to serve his life. According to the
Mara Regional Medical Officer (RMO), Dr
Samson Winani, the sudden death of RC
Tuppa was caused by a stroke.
The sad news spread very fast across the
country, within no time, due to the fast
growing communication technology. It was
immediately treated as breaking news by
major media houses in the country. The sad
news plunged Mara residents into shock.
But for top regional and district government
leaders including top of security department
it was more than a shock. These are the
officials who witnessed what had happened
to their beloved leader whom they had
accompanied for a well planned working
tour.
Before his death, the regional chief was
scheduled to close a major youth training
programme at Nyamwaga village, several
kilometres from Tarime Town. Shortly after
the sad news, a team of officials from
Tarime had to be sent to Nyamwaga village
to postpone the event.
The regional leaders had no other option
but to transport the body to Musoma, for
medical examination and burial
arrangements. The mood at the hospital
was sombre. Many, including officials wept.
"The RC has been in good health.
This is bad news to us", said Ms Peregai
Joel, a senior extension officer at Tarime
District Council, as she shed tears. The late
Tuppa was regarded as one of the best RCs
who ever served Mara Region. He had
opened Mara's potential for a wide range of
investment opportunities in areas of
mining, tourism, agriculture, fishing and
manufacturing.
He has of late been leading a number of
ambitious initiatives aimed at wooing both
foreign and local investors. They included
the recent Lake Zone Investors Furum held
at Malaika Beach in Mwanza City February
13-15. " Mr Tuppa was a patron, a leader
and hard working man, who devoted his life
to serving the people without
discrimination. He respected everybody",
said Mr Gesase Mahanga, a big farmer in
the region.
Apart from investments, other priorities
given due consideration by the late RC were
peace, education for every child, good
relations between local communities and
investors, so as to create a win-win
situation, rain water harvesting, profitable
livestock keeping and rain water harvesting,
just to mention a few.
"He was more than a good leader. I met
and talked with him during the recent
investors' forum held in Mwanza. I
particularly liked his plan for Mara Region
development," said Mr Mseti Wangwe, a
local investor who has invested in tourism
and hospitality sector in Tarime. Before he
became RC, the humble looking Tuppa
served as District Commissioner (DC) in
several parts of the country including
Muleba, Chunya, Mwanga and Dodoma.
President Jakaya Kikwete promoted him in
September 2011 Mara Regional
Commissioner. In September last year, the
Prime Minister, Mr Mizengo Pinda,
congratulated Mr Tuppa for ensuring that
there were no more fights that used to
claim a lot of lives and property worth
millions of shillings.
"What we have achieved is not little. Keep
it up. Clan clashes that used to disturb us is
no more," Mr Pinda told the late RC shortly
after he received the regional report.
President Jakaya Kikwete has sent deep
condolence to the Minister of State in the
Prime Minister's Office (TAMISEMI), Hawa
Ghasia, following RC Tuppa's death.
"For sure we have lost a hard working and
dedicated leader who served people until
last minute of his lifetime," President
Kikwete said on part of his condole message
shortly after the RC passed away. The body
of RC Tuppa will be laid to rest on Saturday
(tomorrow) at his home village of Rudewa
in Kilosa District of Morogoro Region,
government officials confirmed in Musoma
on Wednesday.
"Burial arrangements are going on well and
burial will be on Saturday", Mara Regional
Administrative Secretary (RAS) Mr Benedict
Ole Kuyan told the' Daily News'. Hundreds
of Mara residents from all walks of life
including government, political, religious
leaders, business community,
representatives of financial institutions
turned up to pay last respects to their
beloved RC at his residence in Musoma on
Thursday.
The body was yesterday later expected to
be transported to Mwanza Airport and taken
to Dodoma by plane in the evening.
Residents of Dodoma will be given an
opportunity to pay last respects too. "He
worked in Dodoma for a long time as a DC
and we believe that it is important to give
people a chance to pay their last respects, "
Mr Ole Kuyan said. The late Tuppa was born
in September 1950.
He is survived by a wife, Ms Kate Rebecca,
five children and four grand children. We
loved RC Tuppa so much but the Almighty
God loves him more than we did. Rest in
peace Mzee John Gabriel Tuppa.

MICROSOFT MAKES AN OFFICE FOR ANDROID,IPHONE AND SMARTPHONES

NEW DELHI: On Thursday, not only did
Microsoft unveil three new Office apps for
the iPad, it also made its Office apps for
iPhone and Android, completely free to use.
The Redmond giant updated the apps on
respective app marketplaces to implement
the same.
The Office apps for the two smartphone
platforms were made available last year,
and although these were free to download,
using the apps required an Office 365
subscription. The two apps can now be
downloaded and used without the need to
pay any additional charge.
Microsoft mentions in the apps' update
notes that the apps are intended for home
use which means it still expects business
users to subscribe to the Office 365 plan.
However, it would be difficult to restrict
business users to use the free apps on their
personal devices.
Unlike the Office suite for iPad which comes
with three separate apps - Word,
PowerPoint and Excel, Office for iPhone and
Android comprises of a single app that lets
users open, view and edit documents,
spreadsheets and presentations. The
smartphone apps offer basic functionality
and are not a replacement for desktop or
iPad clients.
With the mobile push, Microsoft aims to
boost usage of its OneDrive cloud solution
as users can save and sync files through the
company's virtual storage service. It will
also enable it to promote Office 365 and
get more people to sign-up for the service.

APPLE IPHONE TO RELEASE NEW....»»princenordy

Apple is reportedly said to roll out two new
set of iPhones in a September launch.
The iPhones are speculated to have 4.7-inch
and 5.5-inch screens with pumped up
resolutions.
A Japanese business newspaper, Nikkei, said
that the component makers were producing
elements like fingerprint sensors and LCD
driver chips for the latest flagship models,
Tech Crunch reports.
According to the report, there was also a
possibility of full HD resolution to be
incorporated in the bigger screened iPhones.
Critics have long called for Apple to release
devices with larger screen sizes and the
latest speculations point to the tech giant
finally going beyond the 4-inch display shared
by the iPhone 5, iPhone 5C and iPhone 5S,
the report added.

FACEBOOK BUYS AN APPLICATION....

Facebook Buys Oculus VR: What's Next?
Virtual friends socializing in virtual reality?
There's a headset for that.
Not to
be left
out of
the
wearable computing market, Facebook on
Tuesday said it has agreed to acquire Oculus
VR , maker of the Oculus Rift virtual reality
headset, for $2 billion -- $400 million in
cash and $1.6 billion in Facebook stock.
That's far less than the $19 billion Facebook
spent to acquire WhatsApp last month, but
it's nonetheless the second-largest acquisition
the company has made to date. Oculus VR
began as a Kickstarter campaign that sought
$250,000 and collected almost 10 times that
amount by the time the campaign concluded
in October 2012.
In a public post, Facebook CEO Mark
Zuckerberg described the deal as a way for
Facebook to begin focusing on the platforms
that will come after mobile. Oculus's
technology, he said, "opens up the possibility
of completely new kinds of experiences."
Zuckerberg said Oculus, with Facebook's help,
will continue to focus on its Rift headset for
immersive gaming. "But this is just the
start," he said. "After games, we're going to
make Oculus a platform for many other
experiences. Imagine enjoying a courtside
seat at a game, studying in a classroom of
students and teachers all over the world, or
consulting with a doctor face-to-face -- just by
putting on goggles in your home."
Google is imagining just that, but with Glass
rather than goggles. And so too are others:
Augmedix recently raised $3.2 million to
make Glass more suitable for doctors. The
tech sector is hoping that the wearable
computing market will take off in the same
way as the mobile device market.
[Is Google honest about what Glass does
and doesn't do? See 10 Google Glass
Myths, Translated .]
Despite the fact that Facebook's obsession
with social interaction and sharing seems to
fit poorly with a device designed to isolate
the wearer from the real world, Zuckerberg
nonetheless extols Oculus's headset as a new
communication platform.
Brendan Iribe, co-founder and CEO of Oculus
VR, characterized his company's technology in
a similar manner: "We believe virtual reality
will be heavily defined by social experiences
that connect people in magical, new ways."
Virtual friends and virtual reality: It's a match
made in heaven, if you're a marketer. But
not necessarily if you're a developer.
Minecraft creator Markus Persson, better
known as Notch, slammed the deal in a
Twitter post.

SAMWEL SITTA SAYS......PrinceNordy

The Constituent Assembly (CA) chairman,
Samuel Sitta, has asked members to continue
giving their opinions on Sections 37 and 38 of
the Standing Orders before the technical
committee chairperson presents resolutions
on the same tomorrow.
He made the statement when briefing
members yesterday morning when
announcing procedures for selecting the CA
committee chairpersons and vice
chairpersons.
“CA Members should today continue to air
their views on the mode of voting to be used
in the Assembly,” Sitta said.
He added: “I hope you are aware that when
we postponed the discussion on the mode of
voting we were delving into whether it should
be open or secret. You now have to give your
comments on the way forward.”
Tomorrow, Sitta said, the chairmen of the
Technical Committee and Parliamentary
Rights will present resolutions passed in their
deliberations on the changes of the rules.
On the House committees, Sitta said there
would be fourteen committees made up of
between 52 and 53 members. Each one of
them will have a chairperson and vice
chairperson.
He urged CA members to elect credible
chairpersons who will be able to present well
thought out recommendations during the
sessions.
“You have to elect qualified leaders since the
posts will be of crucial importance in our
daily activities,” he stressed.
Sitta also urged CA members to discuss the
various articles in time in order to enable
other activities also to be carried out.
“We have a time limit. Let us complete our
assignment in time to pave the way for
implementation of other activities,” he said.
Meanwhile, some CA members explaining
their concerns over the qualifications of the
committee chairpersons and vice chairpersons
said: “You did not tell us the required
qualifications for the two roles … how will we
conduct elections under these circumstances?”
asked Habib Mnyaa.
He also said there was fear that the two
committee leaders might come from the
ruling party (CCM) because it has more
members than the rest.
He insisted that election of the committee
leaders should consider members from all
groups including Zanzibar.
According to Sitta CA members will tomorrow
debate the constitution draft and President
Kikwete’s speech before they embark on
committee discussions.
Two weeks ago the CA endorsed the Standing
Orders to be used by the Assembly members
during the 70 days of constitution making.
Clause 26 (1) of the Constitutional Review
Act states that it is mandatory for the CA to
devise its own rules and that the regulations
must be endorsed by all members.
The second constitution draft was tabled last
Tuesday by Chairman of the Constitution
Review Commission (CRC), Judge Joseph
Warioba before President Jakaya Kikwete was
invited as the chief guest to address the
members on Friday.
The CA has 628 members 386 of them being
men, equivalent to 61.5 percent and 242
women, equivalent to 38.5 percent.
Of the figure 416 are from Tanzania
Mainland representing (66.2 percent) and
212 are from Zanzibar equivalent to (33.8
percent).
CA members from Tanzania Mainland who
are in parliament are 346 (55 percent),
while those who are in the House of
Representatives are 82 members (13
percent). This leaves only 201 members in
the total, who are presidential appointees, an
equivalent of (32 percent).
Meanwhile Sitta yesterday swore in several
members who were absent when their
colleagues took the oath. They included the
Speaker of the National Assembly, Anna
Makinda, the minister of Community
Development, Gander and Children, Sophia
Simba, Deputy minister in the Prime
Ministers' Office (Regional Administration and
Local Government), Said Mtanda, Susan
Lyimo and Hamad Rashid Mohammed.
The exercise to swear in CA members is
expected to continue today.

UDSM KUMBEEEE....

Recruitment Secretariat plans training
programme
Highly qualified Masters and Bachelors
degree holders in Tanzania fail to compete in
the labour market because they lack skills in
writing application letters and curriculum
vitae (CV), the government has said.
Head of Government Communication Unit for
Public Service Recruitment Secretariat, Riziki
Abraham, said in a news conference
yesterday in Dar es Salaam that despite
having the required qualifications, the
majority of graduates in the country fail to
get employed because their CVs are not
written properly.
She said apart from poor CV writing skills,
English grammar follows as a major deterrent
keeping the applicants from making it even
to the first interview despite their high
qualifications.
“The situation at hand proves that graduates
who seek jobs only went to the universities to
earn degrees, not to acquire actual practical
skills that will enable them work
professionally in different sectors,” said the
Recruitment Secretariat.
“In fact, most of them (graduates) do not
even understand what they studied and
graduated for,” she said.
Further, she said most of the graduates lack
confidence, have no interview taking skills
and are also not conversant with the most
basic of computer programmes.
She said last year, they received at least
6,500 application letters for different posts,
but already more than 600 have failed to
meet the qualifications mainly because of the
way they wrote their application letters and
CVs. Abraham said the secretariat is planning
to start providing education to various
colleges and universities in the country on
how to equip the students with the
appropriate skills needed to write winning
applications and comprehensive CVs.
“We have decided to do this due to the fact
that this situation is only expected to get
worse,” she noted saying the education
campaign will begin in the next financial
year.
Responding, Prof Humphrey Moshi of the
University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM) told The
Guardian over the telephone that it is very
frustrating to learn that students who have
graced the university corridors still cannot
write proper job application letters.
He narrowed down the causes to two things,
lack of confidence and failure to concentrate
on language use.
To curb the trend, the professor said there is
need for universities to start appropriate
programmes on how to write application
letters and CVs.
“Universities should come up with
programmes that teach students ahead of
graduation the proper skills to use in job
application letters and CV writing,” said the
faculty of Economics professor.
For his part, UDSM Vice Chancellor, Prof
Rwekaza Mkandala said he would only
comment after reading the article.
Meanwhile Riziki Abraham said they have
managed to identify about 1,035 fake
certificates since the secretariat was
established four years ago.
She called on all job seekers to abstain from
use of fake or any form of fraudulent
documentations warning them of strict legal
measures.
“We are collaborating with the police,
National Examination Council of Tanzania
(Necta) and the immigration department to
verify the authenticity of certificates in use,”
she warned.

JENNIPHER LOPEZ "J.LO" WINS A.....»»PrinceNordy

have increased the visibility and
understanding of the lesbian, gay, bisexual
and transgender community" at a ceremony
in Los Angeles next month. One of the
reasons Lopez was chosen for the accolade by
the gay rights organisation is for her role as a
producer on "The Fosters," a TV series about
a lesbian couple raising a family of biological,
adopted and foster children.
Sarah Kate Ellis, president of GLAAD, said:
"Through her work to bring 'The Fosters' to

Lilongwe Police is keeping in custody two
Tanzanian nationals and a Malawian for
allegedly being found in possession of
medical drugs without a license.
Central Region Police Publicist, John
Namalenga, told Malawi News Agency
(Mana) on Friday, that the three were
arrested at Lilongwe Devil Street where
they were doing their business.
Namalenga identified the Tanzanian suspects
as Edivela Aaron, 30, Dan Mungosi, 38, and
James Adam a Malawian whose particulars
are not known.
He said they received a tip from unknown
people that they saw strange faces taking
delivery of drugs.
"It was yesterday when we got a tip from
the public, as the police officers we rushed
to the scene where we managed to arrest
the suspects," he explained.
Namalenga said the suspects were found
with 41-tins of chlorophenical tablets.
According to Namalenga, Pharmacy and

MALYASIA CLAIMS THAT THE LOST JET CRUSHED IN»»»PrinceNordy

A missing Malaysia Airlines Boeing 777
airliner has most certainly crashed in the
southern part of the Indian Ocean, the airline
said Monday.
In a text message to families of those
on board the airline said all passengers
and crew were presumed dead. The message
was widely reposted online to social media.
The plane, carrying 239 people, including one
Russian , lost contact with air traffic
controllers under mysterious circumstances
on March 8. At least 26 nations took part
in the massive hunt for the missing aircraft.
Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak
confirmed the crash, citing the latest satellite
data obtained from British satellite company
Inmarsat and Britain's Air Accidents
Investigation Branch.
Inmarsat had previously identified two
areas — dubbed the north and south corridor
— where the plane could have flown
unnoticed after its onboard transponder was
switched off.
"Based on their new analysis, [they] have
concluded that MH370 flew along
the southern corridor and its last position was
in the Indian Ocean, west of Perth [in
Australia]," Razak said in a statement.
"This is a remote location, far from any
possible landing sites. It is therefore with
deep sadness and regret that I must inform
you that according to this new data, flight
MH370 ended in the southern Indian Ocean,"
he continued.

MICROSOFT'S REQUEST DELAYED

Peter Suciu for redOrbit.com – Your
Universe Online
While it sounded like a “done deal,” Nokia
has delayed the sale of its smartphone
business to tech giant Microsoft until April
after reports on Monday stated that Nokia
had still not received approvals from certain
antitrust authorities in Asia.
Last September, Microsoft announced its
plans to acquire Nokia’s Devices & Services
business, which included the smartphone and
mobile phone parts of the Finnish-based
handset maker, for more than $7 billion. The
deal also reportedly included a number of
licensing agreements and patents by Nokia to
Microsoft. The deal was expected to close by
the end of the first quarter of this year.
On Sunday Brad Smith, general counsel and
executive vice president for legal and
corporate affairs at Microsoft issued a
statement via the company’s TechNet Blog .
“We are nearing the final stages of our global
regulatory approval process – to date we
have received approvals from regulatory
authorities in 15 markets on five continents.
Currently, we are awaiting approval
confirmation in the final markets. This work
has been progressing, and we expect to close
next month, in April 2014,” Smith wrote. He
added, “The completion of this acquisition will
mark the first step to bring Microsoft and the
Nokia Devices and Services business together.
Our acquisition will accelerate our mobile-
first, cloud-first imperatives. We’re looking
forward to accelerating innovation and market
adoption for Windows Phones and introducing
the next billion customers to Microsoft
services via Nokia mobile phones.”
The companies had received the thumbs up
from regulators in the United States late last
year. In December the Federal Trade
Commission (FCC) signed off on Microsoft’s
proposed acquisition of Nokia’s mobile
devices and services business, following
approval by the United States Department of
Justice.
However, on Monday the Wall Street Journal
reported that authorities in China hadn’t
signed off on the plan. However, sources told
the newspaper that both companies remain
optimistic about the new timetable. There is
also an outstanding issue of high-profile tax
disputes in India that need to be factored in
before the deal may close, but Nokia has
reiterated that its tax dispute in India would
not have an impact on the deal schedule.
This dispute was over unpaid sales tax on
phones made at the factory in the state of
Tamil Nadu. Nokia has contested the claim by
authorities in that state at the local High
Court, stating that no sales tax should be
levied on exported products.
Indian authorities have otherwise approved
of the acquisition. PC World reported that
the Competition Commission of India had
approved the deal in October, “as it found
that the combination of the two companies
will not likely have an ‘appreciable adverse
effect’ on competition in the country.”
In addition, the WSJ reported that this new
timetable could delay Nokia’s planned
announcement for its new strategy and how it
will compete in the wireless networks
industry. Nokia is expected to announce its
new strategic changes as well as a new chief
executive in the coming days. Nokia’s
chairman is acting as chief executive, while
outgoing chief Stephen Elop is heading to
Microsoft.
Elop will head up Microsoft’s expanding
hardware business and report to the
company’s new chief executive Satya Nadella.
Reuters also reported that other tech firms –
including Google and Samsung Electronics –
have asked the Chinese regulators to ensure
that the deal would not lead to higher
licensing fees.
While this may not stop the deal, Reuters
reported that even a delay could be a
problem for the firms.
“(The delay) is a bad sign. They have been
discussing with authorities for quite a while
already, and they still need more time,”
Nordea Markets analyst Sami Sarkamies told
Reuters on Monday. “The biggest risk is in
the upside of their patents. It looks like
Nokia will have to make bigger concessions to
push the deal through.”
The two companies had been close partners
since February 2011, when Nokia agreed to
focus its attention on creating mobile devices
for the Windows Phone platform.

CHRISS BROWN: JAIL SUCKS

Chris Brown says he's finally been scared
straight -- because he learned pretty
quickly ... jail sucks. You'd think the photos of
Rihanna's battered face would have left an
impression ... on him. But apparently it
took a few days in solitary to shake Chris to
the core. One source -- who recently spoke
with Brown on the phone -- tells us, Chris
says he feels like "a caged animal," calling it
"the worst experience of my life." We're
told Chris has been spending his time behind
bars working out and writing music. He's
telling people on the phone, "I'll never f***
up again."Not particularly convincing. Lucky
for Chris ... he's rich enough to buy his way
out of jail -- as we reported, he's negotiating
to pay off his alleged assault victim in D.C.
so the case goes away and the judge in the
Rihanna case lets him loose ... to roam
freely again.

SUMMARY OF THE MATCH....MADRID VS BARC...

Barcelona moved to within a point of Real
Madrid at the top of La Liga as they twice
came from behind thanks to a Lionel Messi
hat-trick to edge a thrilling El Clasico 4-3 at
the Santiago Bernabeu.
The sides went in level 2-2 at half-time as a
record 19th goal against Madrid from Messi
cancelled out Karim Benzema's double after
Andres Iniesta had put Barca in front.
Cristiano Ronaldo then put Madrid back in
front from the penalty spot, but the hosts
were reduced to 10-men when Sergio Ramos
pulled down Neymar inside the box 10
minutes later and Messi levelled once more
from the spot.
And the Argentine won the game with
another penalty seven minutes from time
after Iniesta had been felled by Xabi Alonso.
A first defeat for Real in 32 games means
Atletico Madrid remain top of the table
thanks to their better head-to-head record
against Los Blancos with Barca still in third.
"The league starts a new now," said Barca
boss Gerardo Martino.
"More than the mathematical distance we
were behind, the impression was people
wrote us off. Atletico Madrid were always in
the fight and I think that after this result we
are too.
"We knew if we didn't win tonight it was over
for us. We still don't have matters in our
own hands, but we'll now fight till the end."
Real coach Carlo Ancelotti, meanwhile,
lamented Ramos' game-changing red card
when Madrid had just gotten themselves back
in front.
"I haven't seen it again and it is difficult for
me to comment on the decisions of the
referee because there were many.
"However, it was the key moment. We were
winning 3-2 and controlling the game well,
but it is much more difficult to control the
game with a player less."
The game got off to a blistering start as after
Neymar and Benzema had early efforts easily
saved, Barca opened the scoring when Messi
played in Iniesta behind the Real defence
and the Spanish international smashed the
ball in off the underside of the bar.
Benzema had a great chance to equalise five
minutes later when he spooned Angel Di
Maria's cut-back over after a great a jinking
run from the Argentine had taken him past
three Barca defenders.
Messi could then have made it 2-0 when he
fired wide with the type of opening he is
normally deadly with as he raced onto Cesc
Fabregas' fine through ball.
Benzema made amends for his earlier miss
20 minutes in when Victor Valdes just failed
to keep out his header from Di Maria's cross.
The Frenchman then completed a rapid
turnaround for the hosts as Javier
Mascherano misjudged another Di Maria
centre from the left and Benzema took a
touch before firing past the helpless Valdes.
Gerard Pique had to make a vital clearance
off the line to prevent a hat-trick of Di Maria
assists for Benzema.
- Controversial penalty award -
Barca responded before half-time and were
level when Messi controlled a loose ball
inside the area and slotted home at Diego
Lopez's near post.
Benzema could still have put Madrid in front
at the break as his looping header from Dani
Carvajal's cross crept inches past the post.
The first opportunity of the second period
also fell to Benzema after a terrific run and
pass from Gareth Bale, but this time Valdes
managed to make the save low to his right.
Carlo Ancelotti's men did retake the lead on
55 minutes when referee Alberto Undiano
Mallenco controversially awarded a penalty
for a trip on Ronaldo by Alves despite the
contact appearing to take place outside the
area.
Ronaldo was unmoved, though, as he got up
to take hammer the resulting spot-kick low
past Valdes' outstretched right hand.
However, the game turned again 25 minutes
from time when Messi released Neymar and
he was brought down by Ramos.
Real's captain for the evening was shown his
19th red card for Los Blancos for denying a
clear goalscoring opportunity and Messi
converted from the spot to make it 3-3.
Alves then struck the inside of the post from
25 yards as Barca went in search of the goal
that would salvage their title chances.
And they got it when Mallenco awarded a
third penalty of the evening as Iniesta
tumbled inside the area and Messi again
dispatched it perfectly high

KIM KADARSHIAN MAJANGA

Buffy the Kimye slayer! Sarah Michelle Gellar threw some
serious shade at Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's first-ever Vogue cover on Friday, March 21, shortly after the Anna Wintour-approved April issue was revealed.
"Well……I guess I'm canceling my Vogue subscription," Gellar tweeted. "Who is with me???"
While many fans agreed with Gellar, the Crazy One star's comment also elicited a defensive quip from Kardashian's bestie, Jonathan Cheban. "Do u matter?" he said, retweeting Gellar. Cheban, along with Kardashian's closest family and friends, celebrated the couple's fashion bible coup Friday afternoon.
Vogue editor Wintour also defended her controversial choice to place the reality TV star and rapper on the issue's cover in her Editor's Letter.
"As for the cover, my opinion is that it is both charming and touching, and it was, I should add, entirely our idea to do it; you may have read that Kanye begged me to put his fiancĂ©e on Vogue’s cover. He did nothing of the sort," Wintour, also the creative director of Conde Nast, wrote.
"Kanye is an amazing performer and cultural provocateur, while Kim, through her strength of character, has created a place for herself in the glare of the world's spotlight, and it takes real guts to do that."
Gellar, for her part, has never covered Vogue. The Cruel Intentions star, who rose to fame in the '90s along with fellow teen heartthrobs Reese Witherspoon, Ryan Phillippe and husband Freddie Prinze, Jr., has fronted many other magazines in the past, including British Elle, Self, Allure, InStyle, and Seventeen.
